Official Transformers 3 logo and website unveiled

The official logo and website for the third and final Transformers film are now online. The logo, above, is a sharpened, more metallic branding of the series, revealing the official titling of the film.

The new website is for now, just a placeholder, with nothing more than the logo and the opportunity for fans to sign up for updates, but expect it to become interactive and extensive as the release date draws near.

Entertainment Tonight recently did a ‘Behind-the-scenes’ look at the filming, speaking to star Shia LeBeouf about the substance of the film and how there will be an “emotional love story” different to that of the second. Through the reel, we see that Michael Bay has not lost any of his explosive touch, blowing up half of downtown Chicago during the process. You can view the clip from ET below.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is slated to hit cinemas July 1st, 2011.

Transformers 3 titled The Dark of the Moon

Pink Floyd comments and jokes aside, the upcoming final chapter of the Transformers film series has been given a title. Perhaps in reference to certain planet-consuming beings or as leaked by Cinema Blend, connections to American history, the new Transformers flick has been titled The Dark of the Moon.

Other planets in our solar system were first referenced in the original trailer for the first film, signalling the first contact humanity had with the Transformers. The second film divulged that the robot race had been on Earth long, long before this contact.

The Michael Bay directed film is slated for release July 1st, 2011. Shia LeBeouf has promised that the upcoming chapter will not suck.

Shia LaBeouf promises Transformers 3 will be good

The Beouf has promised the world that the upcoming Transformers movie will not suck. Speaking to MTV, LeBeouf has said the action and the script of the third Transformers movie is a vast improvement over the not-so-great second and is even better than the first;

…it’s the best movie we’ve made of the three by far…The script is the best script we’ve had…The second movie, we were in the middle of a writers’ strike, writing on the go…The first movie, we had the discovery, and this movie really is the fruition of the rhythm we’ve created out of five years working together. I’m super proud of this movie.”

The Michael Bay-directed flick will be the last of the series and was blighted by casting problems early on, with starlet Megan Fox being dumped from the cast list and replaced by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. However, the film received a boost with the additions of John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Alan Tudyk and Patrick Dempsey to the cast.

The film is slated for a global release July 1st, 2011. Transformers 2 did suck, but we went and saw it anyway. Twice.
